Islamic Scholars Condemn Iran’s Aggression as Betrayal of the Ummah

Leading Islamic scholars and muftis have denounced Iran’s repeated attacks on Gulf and Arab states, describing them as flagrant violations of Islamic values and international law. In communications with the Muslim World League, they expressed outrage at the targeting of civilian areas and vital infrastructure, particularly the assault on Saudi Arabia, home to the Kaaba and the Prophet’s Mosque.

The scholars affirmed the right of the affected nations to defend themselves and safeguard their sovereignty, stressing that Iran’s actions amount to betrayal of the Muslim ummah and treachery against neighborly bonds. They warned that continued aggression would isolate Iran within the Islamic world and bring grave consequences.

Muslim World League Secretary-General Sheikh Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa welcomed the scholars’ solidarity, noting their emphasis on unity and compassion. He highlighted that the Muslim world has not witnessed such reckless aggression before, which contradicts Iran’s proclaimed calls for Islamic unity.

The joint condemnation underscores a growing consensus among Islamic leaders that Iran’s behavior undermines regional stability and violates the spirit of cooperation enshrined in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s charter.

UN Slams Iran’s Aggression as Kuwait Warns of Regional Explosion

The UN Human Rights Council has condemned Iran’s recent attacks on Gulf and Arab states, labeling them severe violations of sovereignty and international law. The resolution, adopted in Geneva, demands Iran provide immediate compensation to affected nations and halt all assaults on civilians and infrastructure.

The Council highlighted the right of states to defend themselves under Article 51 of the UN Charter, noting that Iran’s missile and drone strikes pose a direct threat to regional stability and global trade, particularly through the Strait of Hormuz.

Kuwait’s Ambassador Nasser Al-Hain warned that the region is on the verge of a “total explosion,” criticizing the international community’s silence. He described the attacks on Kuwait International Airport, oil facilities, and the Riyadh ministerial meeting as systematic terrorism and a flagrant breach of diplomatic immunity.

Al-Hain stressed that Iran’s actions undermine Gulf initiatives for peace and trust, while its economic aggression deliberately disrupts development. He cautioned that diverting resources from education and health to defense jeopardizes future generations’ right to stability and prosperity.

Kuwait Urges Public to Halt Damage Footage, Launches Weapons Amnesty for Security

He reassured that the situation is under control, with no injuries reported despite material damage. Government agencies, including the Ministries of Defense and Information, are working together to keep the public informed.

Ghareeb also highlighted a new Interior Ministry initiative allowing citizens and residents to surrender unlicensed weapons and ammunition voluntarily until April 1, without legal consequences. He described the campaign as a national duty, stressing that compliance would help avoid strict penalties after the deadline.

The initiative, covering all types of arms, is designed to bolster security and stability amid current challenges. Ghareeb concluded by affirming that Kuwait’s security remains intact, urging cooperation with authorities to protect the country’s safety and ensure community stability.

The six nations described these assaults as grave violations of sovereignty, international law, and UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which explicitly calls on Iran to halt all threats and hostilities against its neighbors.

While reaffirming their fraternal ties with Iraq, the countries urged Baghdad to take swift measures to stop militias from launching attacks across its borders, warning that failure to act risks further escalation.

The statement emphasized the nations’ full right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter, vowing to adopt all necessary steps to protect their security and stability.
