As part of its leading social and developmental role, Namaa Charity —affiliated with the Social Reform Society (جمعية الإصلاح الاجتماعي) announced a generous contribution of 100,000 Kuwaiti dinars to support the “Debtors Campaign” (حملة الغارمين)  launched by the Ministry of Social Affairs{:target="_blank"}. The campaign aims to assist financially distressed citizens and alleviate the burdens on struggling Kuwaiti families.

The donation check was handed over to Undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, in the presence of senior ministry officials, including Mohammed Al-Omar , Vice Chairman of the Social Reform Society, Hamad Al-Ali, the Society’s Secretary-General, and Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, Deputy CEO of Namaa Charity.

Dr. Al-Ajmi praised the outstanding efforts of Kuwaiti charitable organizations in promoting values of giving and sustainable development. “Our testimony to your work is heartfelt,” he said, “and what Kuwait’s charitable institutions offer is a source of national pride and a distinguished representation of our country.”

In a press statement, he emphasized the importance of further coordination and organization in the charitable sector, aiming to align it with Kuwait’s humanitarian principles. “Our work is based on integration, not competition,” he added, “and integration is achieved through harmony in laws, procedures, and administrative arrangements.”

Al-Ajmi expressed pride in Kuwait’s charitable and humanitarian work, especially the significant role played by organizations like the Social Reform Society . “These associations help us greatly in organizing and developing the sector,” he said, noting that organizing charitable work will be a top priority for the Ministry in the coming phase.

He revealed that the Ministry has formed a new department led by Iman Al-Enezi and overseen by Abdulmohsen Al-Mukhyal. This team has been empowered to streamline procedures and ensure the sustainability of charitable efforts within a comprehensive governance framework.

Regarding the “Debtors Campaign,” Al-Ajmi noted that it has reached its final stages. “Thanks to God and the support of charitable organizations and generous donors, we have surpassed 14.5 million Kuwaiti dinars,” he said. The campaign has successfully facilitated the release of over 2,291 debtors who met the eligibility criteria. He added that the campaign is expected to conclude soon after addressing all remaining cases.

Al-Ajmi commended the Social Reform Society  and its humanitarian arm, Namaa Charity , for their exceptional role. “Their 100,000 KWD donation reflects the spirit of responsibility and solidarity that defines Kuwaiti charities.”

He emphasized that the campaign’s success was the result of meticulous administrative organization and direct oversight by relevant authorities. “We operated with full transparency and accountability,” he stated, “reviewing every case thoroughly through legal and technical committees.”

Al-Ajmi concluded, “Kuwaiti charitable work is a genuine source of national pride. Wherever we go, Kuwait leads in goodness. This places a historical responsibility on us to preserve and present this legacy in the best possible light.”

Mohammed Al-Omar affirmed that this initiative continues the Society’s mission to support those in need and strengthen the concept of partnership in social work. “We believe that solidarity between state institutions and civil society is the cornerstone of building a cohesive and compassionate nation,” he said.

Hamad Al-Ali added that the organization and its charitable arms have always been close to people’s concerns. “Namaa’s initiative is a practical translation of our mission to serve society and promote the values of mercy and cooperation advocated by our noble religion,” he said.

Abdulaziz Al-Kandari emphasized that this contribution is part of Namaa’s ongoing efforts to support underprivileged groups in Kuwait. “We see the Debtors Campaign as a national endeavor that goes beyond financial aid,” he said. “It is a project to restore hope and stability to Kuwaiti families facing hardship.”
