Namaa Charity Contributes 100,000 KWD to the “Debtors Campaign”
Kuwaiti Social Affairs Undersecretary: Charitable Work Is a National Pride, and Al-Islah Is a Governance Model
As part of its leading social and developmental role, Namaa Charity —affiliated
with the Social Reform Society (جمعية الإصلاح الاجتماعي) announced a generous contribution of
100,000 Kuwaiti dinars to support the “Debtors Campaign” (حملة الغارمين) launched
by the Ministry of Social Affairs{:target="_blank"}. The campaign
aims to assist financially distressed citizens and alleviate the burdens on
struggling Kuwaiti families.
The donation check was handed over to Undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi,
in the presence of senior ministry officials, including Mohammed Al-Omar , Vice Chairman of the Social Reform Society,
Hamad Al-Ali, the Society’s Secretary-General, and Abdulaziz Al-Kandari, Deputy
CEO of Namaa Charity.
Dr. Al-Ajmi praised the outstanding efforts of Kuwaiti charitable
organizations in promoting values of giving and sustainable development. “Our
testimony to your work is heartfelt,” he said, “and what Kuwait’s charitable
institutions offer is a source of national pride and a distinguished
representation of our country.”
In a press statement, he emphasized the importance of further
coordination and organization in the charitable sector, aiming to align it with
Kuwait’s humanitarian principles. “Our work is based on integration, not
competition,” he added, “and integration is achieved through harmony in laws,
procedures, and administrative arrangements.”
Al-Ajmi expressed pride in Kuwait’s charitable and humanitarian work,
especially the significant role played by organizations like the Social Reform Society . “These associations help
us greatly in organizing and developing the sector,” he said, noting that
organizing charitable work will be a top priority for the Ministry in the
coming phase.
He revealed that the Ministry has formed a new department led by Iman
Al-Enezi and overseen by Abdulmohsen Al-Mukhyal. This team has been empowered
to streamline procedures and ensure the sustainability of charitable efforts
within a comprehensive governance framework.
Regarding the “Debtors Campaign,” Al-Ajmi noted that it has reached its
final stages. “Thanks to God and the support of charitable organizations and
generous donors, we have surpassed 14.5 million Kuwaiti dinars,” he said. The
campaign has successfully facilitated the release of over 2,291 debtors who met
the eligibility criteria. He added that the campaign is expected to conclude
soon after addressing all remaining cases.
Al-Ajmi commended the Social Reform Society and its
humanitarian arm, Namaa Charity , for
their exceptional role. “Their 100,000 KWD donation reflects the spirit of
responsibility and solidarity that defines Kuwaiti charities.”
He emphasized that the campaign’s success was the result of meticulous
administrative organization and direct oversight by relevant authorities. “We
operated with full transparency and accountability,” he stated, “reviewing
every case thoroughly through legal and technical committees.”
Al-Ajmi concluded, “Kuwaiti charitable work is a genuine source of
national pride. Wherever we go, Kuwait leads in goodness. This places a
historical responsibility on us to preserve and present this legacy in the best
possible light.”
Mohammed Al-Omar affirmed that this initiative continues the Society’s
mission to support those in need and strengthen the concept of partnership in
social work. “We believe that solidarity between state institutions and civil
society is the cornerstone of building a cohesive and compassionate nation,” he
said.
Hamad Al-Ali added that the organization and its charitable arms have
always been close to people’s concerns. “Namaa’s initiative is a practical
translation of our mission to serve society and promote the values of mercy and
cooperation advocated by our noble religion,” he said.
Abdulaziz Al-Kandari emphasized that this contribution is part of Namaa’s
ongoing efforts to support underprivileged groups in Kuwait. “We see the
Debtors Campaign as a national endeavor that goes beyond financial aid,” he
said. “It is a project to restore hope and stability to Kuwaiti families facing
hardship.”
