No Normalization with a Two-Faced Policy (2/2)
They progressed ahead of us in space conquest, walked on the moon, sent probes to Mars, invented the airplane, built the tank, launched rockets, split the atom, unraveled the chromosome mysteries and discovered the human genome. We look at all of this in amazement. Nothing protects us from this astonishment and dissolution except our history and civilisation, which once served as the teacher and inspirer for the whole world in ancient times. If they are the fathers, we are the ancestors from whom they took and learned. We were the first to read and write. To us the religions were revealed and from us came prophets and sages. We carried to the world the trust of monotheism and the words of the Qur’an, Gospel and Torah and the banner “There is no Allah but Allah.”
The New Global Race: Asian Giants Enter the Market
Today the Japanese giant in the Far East awakens and rubs its
eyes; the Chinese dragon stirs from its slumber; Korea, Taiwan,
Singapore, Malaysia and the little Asian spirits enter the race;
competition intensifies and heads jostle in the marketplace of technology
and production. We crawl and inch along at the end of the line, bashful. In
the tumult everything becomes mixed up. Everyone carries their merchandise and
calls out their wares in the market of globalization led by America and
Europe.
The Unjust Balance of Power and Global Monopolies
The competition does not seem fair nor the race just — the global market
is guarded by massive monopolies and governed by the balance of power, most of
which is in American hands and behind that the nuclear powers. They monopolise
and protect their gains with them. The dollar rules. American power holds the
reins. He who has more knowledge has the greater opportunities — the rest stand
at the back of the line. Espionage, intelligence, theft of secrets and
aggression against the weak are the rule. Iraq is in captivity, Jerusalem
is under occupation, Arabs are in diaspora, oil wealth is in the hands
of the powerful and under their guardianship even if nominally it belongs to
the Arabs.
The Shadow of Israel and the Negotiation of Surrender
Peace is proclaimed outwardly, but the hidden war blazes on all fronts.
Israel watches us from every quarter; it has set up arsenals of biological
weapons, chemical bombs, nuclear missiles, submarines,
battleships, fleets carrying nuclear warheads, fighter planes and every kind of
strike aircraft — and it has a surplus of American arms stored with it. It
claims its military stockpile is more abundant and stronger than all that in
the Arab countries combined. It negotiates with us from this high, arrogant
summit, as if to say from under the negotiating table that surrender is
better, and accepting the status quo is safer and more honourable
for you.
The Declared War on Islam and the
Accusation of Terrorism
The picture across the world and away from the negotiating table is even
darker and blacker: the declared war on Islam and Muslims is raging everywhere
— from Bosnia to Kosovo, to Palestine, to South Sudan, to Chechnya, to Somalia,
to the Upper Nile, to central Africa. America and Europe side with the
opponents in every case and accuse Islam and Muslims of carrying the banner of terrorism,
of being symbols of chaos, primitiveness, reaction and backwardness in this
civilised world — and of being enemies of peace and progress. May Allah forgive
them.
Obedience and the Price of the Gulf War Conspiracy
Allah knows how much they oppressed us. There is no group in the entire
international family as obedient and submissive as the Arab Muslim
family. Its leadership surrendered, and surrendered its oil and
wealth to American hands, to American partnership and to American and
European investors; it accepted its share of the cake and multiplied its wages
in exchange for guarantees of security and protection — even if the
aggressor was an ambitious Arab like Saddam Hussein, coming from their
side, funded and consulted by the Americans themselves. The good Arab family
overlooked all these conspiracies. America atoned for its involvement in the Gulf
War conspiracy by piling punishment on Saddam Hussein
and on Iraq and the Iraqi people with such brutality that it provoked
questioning throughout the Arab world: why do we always pay the price? Why do
Arab peoples pay for sins they did not commit? Why does America blackmail these
peoples while knowing they are innocent and oppressed? It is a strange
injustice that takes the form of justice — a reprisal that wears the cloak of
diplomacy and politics.
The Chechen Struggle and the Crushing of a Victim
In the mountains of Chechnya
another criminal, unjust war is raging, and the scales of justice there are
gravely imbalanced. One side is a small poor band fighting with primitive
weapons amidst freezing cold, snow and ice; on the other is all of Russia
with its armaments, tanks and missiles, and behind it America, supplying
funds and dollars to wage a war of extermination against a poor people
struggling for freedom. Colossi have united to crush a dying victim. Scenes we
receive through satellite channels are painful, provocative and horrifying,
dripping with injustice and tyranny. The oppressed Muslim can do nothing
but raise his hands on the Night of Decree — greater than a thousand
months — praying to the Just and Merciful Lord to strike the tyrant Russians
with an earthquake that turns their land into ruin and returns the proud to
their senses, restoring the scales of justice; the weak can only pray.
The Unchangeable Divine Law and the Path Forward
And the Muslims are not the weakest today; the red and yellow (powers) have united and all have rallied against them like famished crowds around the communal bowl. But nothing remains as it is. The earth turns; days cycle and time rotates. One of Allah’s names is the Abaser and the Exalter — He does not preserve the highness of the arrogant nor the tyranny of the tyrants. Tomorrow heads will bow and heads will be raised, and everything will change. What remains for us to do now? What role remains to us?! What remains for us is steadfastness — to stand firm. The firmest bond for the Arab nation is its religion, language and nationality; our Islam is the unifying bond that remains for us. Muslim and Christian Egyptians stand in one trench, their bond is their shared destined fate. Israel speaks of peace while occupying land, carrying out aggression and preparing the engines of war, dropping bombs on the citizens of southern Lebanon. We will have no normalization with this two-faced language nor with this two-faced policy. The least that can be said of this action is that it is political charlatanry. If Israel is preparing, then we can only prepare. Allah is with us as long as we are with Him. Allah will never be with liars and fringe ruffians.
