US President Joe Biden expressed concern over Israel's diminishing international support and called for a change in the far-right government led by Benjamin Netanyahu.
Biden made these remarks during a fundraising event for his election campaign, highlighting Israel's indiscriminate bombing of Gaza and the resulting loss of Palestinian civilian lives.
He emphasized that Israel is starting to lose support from the international community, while also acknowledging the importance of ensuring the safety of the Jewish people.
Despite being a self-proclaimed Zionist and a strong supporter of Israel, Biden urged Netanyahu to alter his extremist government and work towards a long-term solution for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
According to Biden, the current Israeli government is the most extreme in the history of Israel and lacks the willingness to pursue a two-state solution.
The US President revealed that he engaged in extensive discussions with Qataris and Egyptians to secure the release of over 100 detainees held by the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.
Biden is scheduled to meet with family members of Americans detained in Gaza, who also hold Israeli citizenship, at the White House on Wednesday.
