The Palestinian Resistance Strikes Back
On the 65th day of the Israeli Aggression on Gaza, December 10, 2023, the Palestinian resistance fought back against the Israeli occupation forces. They were able to destroy many vehicles and kill many soldiers.
The Resistance Strikes
The Palestinian resistance, also known as the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, targeted Israeli tanks and military bulldozers in different areas of the Gaza Strip. They used special shells and anti-armor weapons to destroy these vehicles. The resistance fighters also attacked foot forces, sniped at the enemy, and detonated mines. They were able to kill at least 40 Israeli soldiers. The Al-Qassam Brigades even shared videos of their successful attacks on an Israeli tank. They made it clear that they won't release any Israeli prisoners unless Hamas conditions are met.
Israeli Losses
The Israeli occupation army suffered heavy losses during these battles. They reported that about 1,600 soldiers were injured, with 255 of them in critical condition. The battles in the Shujaiya and Jabalia neighborhoods were particularly intense, resulting in the transfer of 670 wounded soldiers. Since the beginning of the war, the Israeli army has lost 426 soldiers and officers. The number of wounded soldiers reached 1,593, with 127 in serious condition. However, it's important to note that hospital records show a higher number of wounded soldiers than what the Israeli army has officially announced.
Massacres and Casualties
The Israeli occupation committed 21 massacres in the past hours, causing the deaths of many innocent Palestinians. The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that 297 martyrs arrived at hospitals during this time, and there are still many victims trapped under the rubble. Since the start of the Israeli aggression in October, around 18,000 Palestinians have been killed, and 49,500 citizens have been injured. The situation is devastating.
Escalation in the West Bank
Not only is the conflict raging in the Gaza Strip, but there has also been an escalation of violence in the West Bank. The Israeli occupation forces have been involved in clashes with Palestinians in this area as well.
Israeli Incursions and Escalation in the Middle East
At least 5 Palestinians were shot and killed, and others were arrested. Two homes were even bombed with missiles! These incidents happened during new incursions by the Israeli army in different areas like Tubas, Nablus, Jenin, Qalqilya, Hebron, Ramallah, and occupied Jerusalem. It's a really serious situation.
Lebanon Front
On the northern front, there's been a lot of tension between Hezbollah and the Israeli army. They've been attacking each other for over two months now along the border between Lebanon and Israel. The United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon (UNIFIL) is worried that this could lead to an even bigger conflict. Hezbollah recently used drones to attack an Israeli army headquarters in southern Lebanon. They also bombed some other sites with missiles. In response, Israel launched airstrikes and used attack drones to hit towns in southern Lebanon. It's a dangerous situation.
Doha Forum
Politically, there's been a lot of talk about the crisis in the Gaza Strip. The Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister spoke at the Doha Forum and criticized the international community for having double standards. He said that the detainees in Gaza were released through negotiations, not because of Israeli military operations. He also called for a review of the international and humanitarian system, saying that force and discrimination should not be accepted. The United Nations Secretary-General also spoke at the forum and expressed concern about the lack of protection for civilians in Gaza. He called for a humanitarian ceasefire. The Jordanian Foreign Minister also spoke and accused Israel of trying to empty the Gaza Strip of its population. He said that this is a danger to the whole region. The US Secretary of State said that Hamas needs to be permanently stopped before a permanent ceasefire can be reached.
