There is no dispute that divine laws and earthly laws differentiate between the sane, the insane, and the mentally incapacitated.

The sane person is one who comprehends matters and distinguishes between what is beneficial and harmful. The insane person lacks discernment, rendering their words and actions invalid.

The mentally incapacitated individual is one whose mental faculties are weak, leading to limited understanding, confused speech, and poor judgment.

Each of these groups has specific divine and earthly rulings tied to their mental abilities—whether sound, deficient, or weak.

Here, we do not aim to discuss the exceptionally intelligent individuals; rather, our focus is on the general population of reasonable people to ensure broader and more inclusive benefits. This is because many who possess rare intellectual abilities often suffer from arrogance and intellectual conceit, listening only to those within their circle. A wise and rational person, regardless of their genius, should understand the society they live in and recognize reality.

Today, political entities employ hundreds of agents to push their agendas and polish their images through policies of mental hijacking, sedation, and manipulation. This is a serious issue that requires vigilance and should not be taken lightly, achievable only through intellectual alertness.

Media manipulation of terminology, images, and perspectives on events is one of the most effective tools for assassinating minds. These are not random policies, as some observers might think, but carefully crafted strategies based on studies and methodologies to advance political, personal, and possibly sectarian or ideological agendas.

The experiences of nations and an unbiased reading of genuine history demonstrate that societies fall into decline primarily through the gateways of mental sabotage and intellectual backwardness.

Thus, anyone seeking to build a nation must prioritize educating the people, as they are the solid foundation for construction and productivity. The educated are the fertile ground that will yield benefits for the nation and society.

This underscores the importance of nurturing minds and monitoring their nourishment through oversight of what is published in official and popular media, including social media platforms. Such care can safeguard the internal front of society, which is as vital—if not more so—than the external front, especially during times of peace.

Today, when we observe some developed nations, we feel pain because we are no different from them in terms of intellect and intelligence. What sets them apart is their focus on cultivating minds, refining them, and channeling them toward serving the nation and its people. Striving to reform and improve minds is a fundamental duty of the state and civil institutions—not a luxury.

The mind is influenced by its environment, the conditions it grows up in, and the political, social, security, and economic circumstances surrounding it. These factors can either contribute to a person's destruction or construction, varying from one individual to another. This is where the role of the state and pure institutions comes in to develop people for the present and future.

Developing minds does not necessarily involve attending courses on how to make the right decisions in exceptional circumstances or mastering self-control in various situations, as is taught today. Instead, it entails intellectual alertness, improvement, and attention to the inputs that educate and protect the mind.

Mind development involves being alert and not succumbing to decisions or rhetoric issued by entities that have proven, through experience, to lack genuine concern for the people. Such entities exploit the people, steal in the name of causes, plunder in the name of the nation, and may even kill in the name of work and the future.

Such partisan or personal entities must be approached with caution to avoid falling into their traps and malicious schemes. It is unrealistic to expect such groups to become builders when experience has shown them to be destroyers, or to spread love and peace when they have been the harbingers of hatred and wars.

Build our nations with rational minds and nurture them with people before structures, lest we find ourselves surrounded by towering buildings devoid of clear and pure minds.
